Calypso Twist embodies the creative spirit of its creator and founder, Miriam Michael. “Whether the artistic medium is metal, wood, glass or ceramic these decorative and functional crafts delight and amaze”, says owner Miriam Michael. “The spirit of Calypso Twist is rooted in respect and love for the fabulous artists and craftspeople we represent and for all of our customers who delight in the creative process. Art can be both highly creative and highly functional”, says Michael, “We love to encourage the celebration of art and craft in our homes-and lives-everyday.”
Calypso Twist is thrilled to announce a new series, Celebrating Art, which brings the artist, their work and their stories to you. Join us once a month from 6:00-8:00 pm and enjoy a lively champagne reception with one of our nationally renowned artists and receive a 10% discount on purchases from the featured artist.
Thrilled to be a contributing member of the vibrant Walnut Creek art community, Calypso Twist is committed to giving back to local charities which educate and assist in promoting art for children. During the grand opening celebration on August 19th Calypso Twist was honored to donate 10% of all proceeds to Comfort for Kids, which provides in-home art activities for children with life-limiting illnesses.
Calypso Twist has also created The Calypso Twist Art Scholarship, which is an annual scholarship fund for East Bay High School students pursuing an art degree at a four year College or University. As Michael states, “Our ultimate success will be based on our contribution to our surrounding community”.
