Walnut Creek, CA (April 17, 2008) Student Art Gallery Exhibition May 22, 5 to 8 pm. Calypso Twist, a retail art gallery in Walnut Creek, is now hosting exhibitions to showcase local student’s art. Calypso Twist features the work of over 200 nationally acclaimed American artists and craftspeople. The gallery currently hosts a series of weekend art events featuring artists, music & refreshments. “One of the key objectives in opening the gallery”, says owner Miriam Michael, “is to highlight and promote local Bay Area artists”.
The new Student Art Exhibition Series will feature an exclusive evening event for each participating high school. Guests will have the opportunity to meet each artist and discuss their work. On Thursday, May 22nd, the first exhibition will showcase the work of students from Bentley Upper School in Lafayette. The event is open to the public and will begin at 5:00 pm. Please join Calypso Twist in supporting art in education by attending this celebration of local talent. As Michael states, “Our ultimate success will be based on our contribution to our surrounding community”.
