Calypso Twist embodies the creative spirit of its creator and founder, Miriam Michael. The spirit of Calypso Twist is deeply rooted in respect and love for the wonderful artists and craftspeople we represent and for all of our customers who find joy and inspiration in our gallery. Art can be absolutely magical - highly creative, fully functional and a colorful reminder to live life to the fullest. We love to encourage the celebration of art and craft in our homes – and lives – everyday.
A visit to Calypso Twist is a testament to the adage, “it’s better to give than to receive”. The gallery has an unprecedented selection of gifts, perfect for all occasions. The unique array of gifts at Calypso Twist reflects the passion and love each artist creates with. Many pieces have heartfelt messages and affirmations, which are perfect for any occasion. “This place makes me smile”, “I am so happy when I’m here”, and “I have never seen a store like this!” are phrases we hear daily from our customers.
We know at Calypso Twist that our success is not measured in sales, but by the positive impact we make in other people’s lives. Thrilled to be a member of the growing Walnut Creek art community, Calypso Twist is committed to contributing to the local community by supporting local charities, providing art scholarships, hosting fundraising events and exhibiting art by local students.
Calypso Twist honors the many wonderful artists and craftspeople we represent by hosting a monthly art series called Celebrating Art. Celebrating Art introduces the artists, their work and their stories to our customers, providing a venue for inspiring conversations, celebration of the art and a tribute to the artists.
